Whip Protection Plan

Members are responsible for any loss or damage to the vehicle not reported prior to the Start Date. Members should document any damage to the vehicle by taking a photo of it and emailing it to the help desk prior to accessing the vehicle.

Included in the Membership fee, Whip offers a protection plan designed to limit members’ financial risk for physical damage to the vehicle as long as the vehicle is used safely and in accordance with the Member Agreement (“Protection Plan”). The Protection Plan is a contractual benefit that limits what members pay for Vehicle damage or loss up to $1,000 plus applicable taxes (“Damage Fee”). The Protection plan also includes access to 24/7 roadside support.

The following are excluded from the Protection Plan: non-collision damage (e.g., windshield chips or missing parts, excluding normal wear and tear), all traffic violations, tolls, parking tickets, late vehicle returns, unauthorized use, and any violations of the Agreement.  Members remain financially responsible for these costs. Members can report an incident here.

Physical Damage Protection

  • Covered Events: Collision, vandalism, weather-related damage, and theft.
  • Damage Fee: Up to $1,000 per-incident damage fee applies.

Liability Protection for Third-Party Damages

Whip provides third-party liability protection to protect members from financial responsibility for damages they cause to other people or property while driving a Whip vehicle during an active reservation.

  • Limits of Liability: Up to state minimums or higher, depending on the jurisdiction where the vehicle is registered and operated.
  • Claim Process:
    • Third parties involved in an accident can file a claim via the Whip platform.
    • Whip Claims will coordinate with claimants, law enforcement, and legal counsel if necessary.

This benefit is only active during a valid reservation and does not extend to personal use or unauthorized drivers.
