Drivers that are interested in Whip membership must meet the following criteria

• Must be 25 years in age or older
• Must be actively driving for a rideshare app, such as Uber or Lyft
• Must be currently licensed to drive
• Must provide proof of address
• Must have minimal accidents and/or moving violations
• Must live and drive in one of Whip’s locations

Applicant Documentation

Proof of Rideshare: This document is provided by the applying driver in the application and is satisfied by a screen shot of the Uber or Lyft account. The screen shot should show the total number of lifetime rides given.

Driver’s License: This document is also provided by drivers during the application process. The photo uploaded should be of the hard-copy license, no paper copies, restricted licenses, or permits will be accepted. The license should also not expire within 30 days of the time of application submission.

Proof of Address: The last document that is requested from drivers during the application is their proof of address. This can be satisfied with a bank statement, credit card statement, or utility bill, in the driver’s name dated in the past or future 30 days. Whip does not accept PO Boxes at this time.

Accident & Violation History: Whip uses a number of tools to gather information about an applicant’s driving record and accident history. This is not something that the driver will need to provide, but applicants that are found to have excessive infractions and accidents on their record will not be approved.
