On Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022, The Washington Football Team launched the rebrand of their team name from the Washington Football Team to the Washington Commanders. The name change comes after two years of requests by fans, sponsors, and advertisers.
The Commanders used a fleet of nine Tesla Model Ys wrapped in the team’s new colors and logo that were provided by DriveWhip, to drive throughout D.C., Maryland, and Virginia while handing out team merchandise to various community organizations.
Previous Superbowl champions like Doug Williams, Kedrick Golston, and Darrel Young were on hand to give merchandise to people at each stop. Stops included Virginia Commonwealth University, Eleanor Roosevelt High School, and the Wharf just to name a few.
The Commanders’ official Instagram and Twitter account also shared more footage of the fleet, including the clip below.
DriveWhip is now offering Tesla Model Ys for Rideshare drivers in the Washington Metropolitan area. Our program provides insurance, free maintenance, and unlimited mileage so you can drive for any platform.
We want to thank The Commanders for the opportunity to serve and be a part of this historic moment.
